How we remove CO2
When plants grow, they absorb CO₂ from the atmosphere. When harvested, leftover biomass (like straw or food waste) still holds that CO₂.
The biogas plant can turn this waste biomass into green energy and capture the CO2.
This CO2 is then captured, liquified, and stored underground for more than 1.000 years.

This removal generates CDR credits for you to purchase to compensate for the emissions you cannot reduce.
We as a Danish based company, we are happy that most of the biomass, the biogas plants and the storage site are all in Denmark.
This ensures that the biomass and biogas plants live up to legislation from EU like the Renewable Energy Directive (REDII), ensuring that the biomass used is sustainable.
Denmark has ambitious climate targets, and the political environment is supportive of what we do.
BioCarb Solution is a service provider that makes the whole project happen.
We collect the CO2 from the biogas plants; we ensure transportation and work together with INEOS at project Greensand for safe storage.
We work with Puro Earth to certify the biogas plants and issue the carbon removal credits – making sure we live up to all the demands needed to ensure transparent and real climate action.
Lastly, we sell carbon removals to companies, helping them reach their goals and making a positive effect on the climate.
For out type of CDR credits – also known as BECCS (BioEnergy with Carbon Capture and Storage) the storage is permanent – that is +1.000 years.
This makes our carbon removals comply with the SBTis requirements for carbon credits, that are eligible for counterbalancing your hard-to-abate residual emissions.
Compensation with carbon removal does not have to be complex.

Besides biomethane and pure CO2, biogas plants also have a residual waste mass from biogas production. This can – with the right technology – be turned into biochar. A win-win solution to remove even more CO2 utilizing the waste of a waste product.
We are currently working with biogas plants testing this technology and plan to make biochar available from 2026.
